<title>ABSTRACT</title>
<p> Magnetic seeding coupled with magnetic separation was applied for the removal of bacteria from pharmaceutical waste water. A magnetic seeding process has been adapted to treat it in the first stage of treatment; this was achieved with the help of a ferromagnetic material like magnetite which were successfully synthesized in the laboratory. A comprehensive study was carried out, involving the effects of magnetite dose, magnetite formation, the molar ratio of Fe(III)/Fe(II) and operational parameters (e.g., pH, contact time, temperature and mixing speed rate). The performance of the system is determined by biological materials removals. Fe3O4 particles were successfully applied for the fast removal of bacteria cell within 15-20 minutes and the removal efficiency reached to 99.0 &#37;. The magnetic particles could be completely recovered for reuse. </p><p>Keywords: Pharmaceutical industry wastewater, Electro-Magnetic Treatment (EMT), Bacteria. </p>
