<title>ABSTRACT</title>
<p>In this study, heat absorbing efficiency of standard painted and stripe painted absorber plates in collectors was compared at air mass flow rates of 0.05 and 0.1 kg/s. The thermal efficiency was calculated as 59.99% at the air mass flow rate of 0.1 kg/s with a standard painted absorber plate. It was found that the decrease in the selective painted area generates a reduction in the thermal efficiency of approximately 19.48%, at 0.1 kg/s, which makes it is a significant factor that needs to be developed in the design and construction of stripe painted absorber. By contrast, by integrating PV cells onto the unpainted stripes of the absorber plate, the disadvantage can be eliminated by supplying the electricity required for the collector fan. Although the collector with a stripe painted absorber plate is quite inefficient compared to the standard painted absorber plate regarding thermal performance, designed solar air collector can provide flexibility to use.</p>
