ABSTRACT

In the archetypal voyage of ideas, the history has staged numerous painful transitions and transformations of ideas shedding one skin into another in order to keep the society in accordance with the ongoing social economical and scientific developments in the evolutionary time. This transition and transformation of ideas into new clothes is a necessity one. But what makes it problematic and painful are the instilled perceptions and attitudes of the ones, which sanctify the archetypes, the embodied ideas through time. Therefore, Sanctified archetypes would keep the ideas stuck and hinder the society to renew itself into new born body, which would put it in the right track of evolution and keep its existence. In the course of events, the ideas, which are imprisoned in the sanctified ideas, would fail to stand the test of time in the inverse proportion of reason and belief since evolutionary time has favored the reason over belief. The prison of ideas in archetypes results in infection in the mind of the society and this corrodes away its critical and creative mind of the society and the society begins to be rotten. Ideas are doomed to become the rotten potatoes in the mind. And thus the society is doomed to fall into oblivion in the pages of history. This paper attempts to show that the evolutionary ideas, which are imprisoned in the archetypes, worn off with the rise of reason considering the inverse proportion reason and belief, could be transformed into new archetypal clothing by rendering necessary changes possible exemplifying the Hebrew Bible in the context of Near Eastern civilizations. As the snakes shed their skins to renew, man has to realize the necessity to change the archetypes when time requires.
