The main goal of the study was to investigate the role of proactive coping in job satisfaction. The study was conducted among individuals who are especially vulnerable for negative effects during adaptation process, namely organizational newcomers. Data were collected from N = 99 organizational entrants within a longitudinal evaluation design. The questionnaire assessed employees’ levels of proactive coping and its influence on work-related issue: job satisfaction was administered in three waves: within the first two weeks in the new workplace (Time1), after three months (Time2) and after six months (Time3). Participants different pre-entrance experience: being previously unemployed or working for another organization was considered as moderation factor. The results revealed positive effect of proactive coping on job satisfaction, especially in the group of previously unemployed newcomers as compared to those being after turn-over.
