Although feedback from ESL/EFL instructors during the draft writing process can enhance learning, it is important to train ESL/EFL teachers to write effective feedback on composition drafts. Otherwise, as the findings of this current study revealed, most of the students will not know what teacher-written comments to follow. It is suggested that in an EFL writing context, teachers should be extremely careful about their written comments on students’ drafts and adjust the amount and types of written comments they give as a course goes on and be sensitive to students’ improvement in the writing process. When teachers offer more meaningful written comments in the multiple-draft process, it can be more effective in improving student revision in the EFL context.
