One of the problems that music teachers face in teaching singing to 7-year-old children is the insufficient development of the coordination between musical hearing and voice. In the research, the methodology of a case study was employed, and it was aimed at studying the possibilities for the development of the coordination between a 6-year-old girl’s vocal apparatus and musical hearing by applying individual learning strategy in a specific case. 6-year-old Marija from Ilukste Music School participated in the research. The direct observation method was used in the research. On the basis of the criteria, levels and indicators of the coordination between musical hearing and the vocal apparatus of a 6-year-old child developed by J. Davidova and O. Šeršnova (Davidova & Šeršnova, 2012), the author has diagnosed the level of the development of the coordination between the girl’s vocal apparatus and musical hearing in the process of singing. During the research: 1) the problems of the coordination between the vocal apparatus and musical hearing were identified, 2) the individual learning strategy for the development of the coordination between the vocal apparatus and musical hearing was selected and 3) the effectiveness of this strategy was verified.
