The following paper is part of an on-going research project into intercomprehension. It is based on a sample of eighty nine respondents who were asked to read a number of questions in an unknown language - Romanian. The skill involved is reading comprehension. All of the questions were written in Romanian and the task was to underline the word/words they were able to understand and provide an answer to demonstrate their ability to decode the message. The translation and/or the answer could be given in English, French, Dutch, Italian, Spanish or German. Their translations/answers should demonstrate that reading comprehension of an unknown language is facilitated by intercomprehension.
