The sustainable development is the main objective of any country or individual, in an attempt to ensure a proper standard of living without putting at danger the survival of future generations. Nevertheless, the objective of sustainable development is very demanding, requiring the concerted collaboration of numerous stakeholders (international, regional and national institutions, community entities and individuals). Moreover, the achievement of this objective is hindered by numerous factors, either of economic, political or social nature. One of these factors is the organized crime, which threatens not only the poor and underdeveloped countries, but also the most developed ones. Organized crime activities put at risk not only the development of any country, but also the human security of its citizens.
