<title>ABSTRACT</title>
<p> In this study, two areas were assessed to find the impact of both the Agriculture Research Station (ARS) located in Sulaibiya, Kabd, which is considered as a desert area, which was established in 1975 by KISR for research studies, and the Urban Demonstration Gardens (UDG) in Salmiya. Kuwait City, is an urban city, and consists of two sites with a total area of 5.2 hectares. Both are managed by the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR). The impact on migratory and resident birds and other wildlife fauna were monitored and assessed especially in the UDG area. The field data collected indicated that the research station (ARS) and UDG provided a haven for both wildlife flora and fauna. These may be due to the protection from environmental disturbance, such as livestock grazing, hunters and most importantly the areas provided an all year round availability of food and water. In general, desert animals acquire their water from their diet but it was noticed that the man made water pools in ARS had positive impact on migratory birds residing and nesting in the area such as the Namaqua dove <italic>(Oena capensis)</italic> which was observed and recorded to be breeding for the first time in ARS and the population of Red foxes <italic>(Vulpes vulpes)</italic> had increased inside the station. It was therefore suggested and recommended that continued protection and good management in both sites is necessary with water supply available for both the flora and fauna thus assisting in conservation our natural habitat. </p><p><italic>Keywords: </italic>Wildlife assessment, Kuwait, Conservation, Protected area. </p>
