<title>ABSTRACT</title>
<p> Health care services which are among the most important needs of people are met mainly by hospitals. Health care services are managed separately both by public and private organizations. Health care organizations are heading the list of organizations that need public relations regarding to the services offered by them, service conditions and features of the beneficiaries. Due to the relative importance of this issue, research is conducted on the hospitals serving in Konya province, Turkey. This study is conducted in order to reveal the public relations unit structures, working conditions, working relationships and activities managed in hospitals. More over, the perception of public relations and where it is positioned within the organizational structure are additional issues to be determined. Qualification profiles of public relations executants are other issues to be revealed. Seven privately operated hospitals in Konya province constitute the main sampling. The reasons for choosing privately operated hospitals for the research are increasing importance of Konya region as a health care services center within the framework of Turkish governmental policies and the increasing share of privately operated hospitals within the total services offered by health care industry. The data are sorted and analyzed by means of SPSS for Windows 17.0 software. Major tools used to analyze the data are frequency distributions, arithmetic means and standard deviations. </p><p>Keywords: Private hospitals, Organizational structure, Public relations. </p>
