Emanating from the Indo-European people, the Hittites had been made up of an eclectic crowd. They had created a great civilization by integrating motifs they had replicated from various different cultures especially those pertaining to the Hattie, the local culture of Anatolia into their own culture as well as coping the civilizations of the modern Near East. The Hittite Civilization had played a significant role in introducing the traditional cultures and concepts of the Near East to the European World. It is without doubt that the civilizations that had come about in Anatolia throughout history had also been an important means of passage for east-west cultures. Moreover, the Anatolian Peninsula which had served as a bridge between the eastern and western cultures had also to bear and yield to its unchanging fate in every stage of history. Greatly contributing to the formation of the cultural structure of present Anatolia, the Hittite Civilization’s multi-lingual and multinational structure had also caused for it to take root in the region, however it had in no way hindered its development as this cultural wealth had enabled for a peaceful politics to be adopted in the Near East during the 1400 BC. Embarking on the ethnic and folkloristic values that make up the Hittite Civilization, this study will continue to discuss how about four thousand years of invariable cultural and historical traditions maintained their existence in present Anatolia and thus examine the concepts of ‘Hittite-ism’ and ‘Anatolia-ism’ within the framework of this cultural ethnic diversity. Furthermore, this research will also dwell on the conclusions that will be drawn after first hand assessments of original cuneiform texts of records pertaining to the Hittite State archive and reviews of literature relating to the subject matter as well as examine the factors of the Hittite Civilization had not only contributed to the present Anatolian culture but also to the formation of the Western Civilization.
