The objectives of the study of “Buddhist Socialization in Heuay Nam Rin Community, Keeleg Sub-district, Mae Rim District, Chiang Mai Province” were using Buddhism principles to develop social strength and to solve the social problems through the in-depth interview with the focusing group of the main participants who were monks, local wise men, teachers, and community leaders. The result of the study according to the use of Buddhism principles to develop social strength indicated that Buddhism still played a major part in strengthening the community, both the way of life and peaceful integration into the community, and with the guidance of the monks in leading people in the community to go to the temple, make merit, and to practice meditation in order to enhance peaceful living. In case of the use of Buddhism principles to solve social problems, the result showed that people living in Heauy Nam Rin area would depend upon their parents, older relatives, and monks for practical suggestions and solutions to the problems. To put in another way, the monk roles in the community had been accepted as the mental guide to the villagers. As a result, many cases of social problems can be negotiated and solved within the temple with the help of monks, with no need to go to the court.
