Combating poverty and social exclusion by promoting the cohesive development of the territory, from a participatory and integrated strategic planning, was a key focus of Capacitate for Qualifications and Innovation of Minho-Lima Social Networks project (CQIMLSN). It is a research-action project that aims to produce structural changes within a downfallen public policy, the Social Network Programme (SMP), through innovative approaches to combat social inequalities and the promotion of conditions where people are born, grow, live and work, i.e. for the promotion of Social Determinants of Health (SDH). The main results highlight the development/strengthening of critical consciousness and collective action and therefore the integration of health equity, gender equality, housing, education, employment and inclusive social entrepreneurship in local and regional political agenda.
