ABSTRACT

This article systematizes the manifestations of orientalism in the works of Ukrainian painters, graphic artists, sculptors and designers on the basis of art material in which various connections with Eastern art are easily traced. In the art pieces of Ukrainian artists and designers the following elements are discovered: quotes of famous works, images and symbols of the East, creative interpretations of basic postulates of ancient Chinese philosophy, use of the principles of origami and other means of artistic expression that are specific for Japanese art.
