<title>ABSTRACT</title>
<p>A mere ideological or problematic issue of African time is what this article goes to address. African
Time will be seen or recalled by defaulter as a crude rationalism strained excuse cum unwarranted
exploitation or such a weak pretext for tardiness in arriving or commencing prescheduled activity or an
event; unless put or scheduled for the noted academic quarter hour tagged-c.t-Cum-Tempore (ca.15
minutes delay) or s.t- Sine-Tempore (prompt,exact-time) in which an occasion especially the institute&#x2019;s
Conferences, Colloquiums or Seminars that kicks-off. The word time in macro-cosmic objective
meaning is only one not two- that is the universal time, not time different of various continents of the
world but the normal time-the hand of a clock moves and ticks meaningfully and unstoppably in any
usual correct way it is placed. This study adopts the method of expository, narrative and hermeneutic
ways. We proffered some solutions and suggestions for the needed orientations for the way forward on
the improvement regarding the consciousness of time in the African cultural milieus. Focused on the
above research delivery, this study will also examine the problem of lateness or tardiness as majorly
self-inflicted, carelessness or a mere laisez-affaire attitude of people&#x2019;s life-style in their domain. Man
ought to be a dynamic entity cum cum reason to live righteously and happily. Should man be
implicated, the invocation of the so called &#x201C;African Time&#x201D; sounds here too is judgmental, inequitable
and unwarranted failure of a thing. The clarity will be seen here on the origin and invention of the First
Clock of the 14th Century by European.</p>
