In an architectural building, the meaning is formed by a complex of signs, and the facades which are the indicators of the building make contact with the environment by means of the signs it has. The signs which are carried by facades that are the visual communication tool, are shaped by the organization of design principles such as color, tissue, space, fullness and similar principles. From this point of view, in this study, analysis/reading of the facades which are thought to be an important database in architectural education, has been built within the context of design principles. In conclusion, providing syntactic analyses in the built environment, comprehending design elements and principles and analyzing their getting together should be one of the main objectives of architectural education.
