This paper aims to explain the motivation for migration to Bangkok rather than the other provinces. This paper uses the population and household census data of Thailand during 2000-2010. The results find the inequality of income is a reason for migration but not the reason for choosing Bangkok over other provinces. The reason for migration to Bangkok rather than other provinces is to get more opportunities in jobs and education. The migrants seek equal opportunities not the equality of income in Bangkok.
