ABSTRACT

Modernism is a Project that imposes its paradigms on society as mere truths. Modern society appears as
an education society, health society, society of order and progress or a society of rigid rules which are
based on institutions. By the way, it creates its counterparts or even its opposites at the same time.
People can’t find jobs although they are well educated; they die of modern time diseases that result
from iatrogenesis; ideal modern family which is called as nuclear family undermines its own bases with
modern impositions and individual is praised by modernism, but he is abandoned to his own struggle by
modern life style. On the other hand, modern individual is tired of rigid rules of that society too. This is
a “counter society” in my terms. Counter society is a paralyzed, neutralized, dis-society because of the
impositions of modernity. In this article, I try to express and evaluate this concept sociologically.
