ABSTRACT

Management of innovations refers directly to factors that stimulate or inhibit this process, which basically depends on decisions taken by the managerial staff. In terms of barriers to innovativeness, we should stress external factors whose identification and elimination determine proper organisation of the process of innovation. In this context, characteristics of an innovative enterprise will be presented, with a special focus on the organisation and management of employees, whose motivation, knowledge and skills constitute the most important factor of an enterprise’s innovativeness. Special attention has been paid to the tasks of an innovation leader and the characteristics that he/she should show. Because an important element of the organisation of an innovation process is the model of its relations with the environment, models of innovation processes have been shown in the context of the modern market tendencies in management, with detailed presentation of the organisation of an innovation process according to the latest conceptions such as: Open Innovation, Blue Ocean Strategy, and User – Driven Innovation, perceived as the most effective ones in the current market conditions.
