Language learning has the tendency to prompt a traumatic experience for some students. It is also proven that language anxiety has become a catalyst to many problems that occur in language learning. Since language anxiety, or apprehension, is one of the major factors that determine the level of comprehensible input received, it has indeed developed into a prominent factor in determining the success of language learning. This study is aims to identify students’ perception on communication apprehension as well as to determine their level of anxiety. A total of 113 students from several universities in Malaysia were involved in this survey. A set of questionnaire adapted from the measurement scale of language anxiety called the Foreign Language Class Anxiety Scale (FLCAS) was used. From the results, it was found that a majority of the students experienced a high level of communication apprehension when learning English.
