As education has becoming more globalized, online education is taking its place among traditional forms of delivery. Many colleges and universities are using online education as either the main or ancillary method of reaching an increasing number of students. Lone Star College, located in the northern suburbs of Houston, Texas, now offers a vast variety of online classes, 11 online Associate Degrees and 23 online Certificates. These classes and programs are all accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges. These offerings help many of the 90,000 students, some of whom cannot attend one of the six campuses as they live elsewhere.
