ABSTRACT

Internship students in the teacher preparation program at Zayed University (ZU), United Arab Emirates, routinely participate in a series of increasingly intensive field experiences. To determine whether field experience placements can offer deeper and more substantive benefits to preservice students if they return to the same field placement for their final internship semester, a practice not typically followed in the ZU program, this researcher followed two teacher candidates who completed their internship with their previous semester practicum mentors. Several stakeholder perspectives are reported. While the sample is extremely limited, experiential indications are encouraging and suggest that further study would be extremely worthwhile.
