Over the last ten years in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the adoption and use of information systems for assessing students’ examination and performance passed through several stages of development and improvement. Three years ago, the Ministry of Education (MOE) implemented the new school information systems for assessing students’ examination and performance. This paper describes the Examination and Assessment systems (E&As) which have been implemented in the basic and secondary government schools in the UAE and examines the extent to which the systems support the teachers and other systems users to assess students’ performance. This study shows that the systems effectively support the examination and assessment processes in the schools.
