<title>ABSTRACT</title>
<p>Diversification faces several obstacles. One of many is the perception of the most Indonesian people who are very attached to rice as a staple food. This led to the emergence of this research idea, and that is to know how far the extent of perception influences the family&#8217;s behavior in consuming non-rice materials as their staple food. The general purpose of this study was to investigate the family&#8217;s perception influence towards the behavior in consuming non-rice materials as their staple food. Non-rice staple food is one of the alternative solution to help government in maintain nation food security, so it is expected for all Indonesian will support this attempt. In some condition nation domestic production of food sometimes&#8217; declining, so it is needed to arouse the behavior to consume many kinds of staple food. If that case, the domestic food security, could be attained.  </p>
