<title>ABSTRACT</title>
<p>One of the ways to obtain electricity is solar energy. Lately, the way to get electricity all over the world is to get electric energy by establishing Photo-Voltaic (solar cell) power plants, and the use of this way is getting widespread. When setting up the Photo-Voltaic power plants and investment-cost-efficiency considered, it is necessary to determine the value of the incoming solar radiation. For this purpose, in this study in the cities of central Turkey remaining between 39&#176;-40&#176; latitude the sun and solar energy determination of possible values and GIS modeling was performed. As far as can be provided by the General Directorate of Meteorology, daily sun energy and sunrise times data of A&#287;r&#305;, Ankara, Bing&#246;l, Erzincan, K&#305;r&#305;kkale, Kır&#351;ehir, Malatya, Sivas and Yozgat in between 1970 and 2017 and atmospheric daily solar energy values and sunshine charts of the cities were created by using daily day lengths of the cities. At the end of the study, the annual total solar energy values of cities between 39&#176;-40&#176; latitude are respectively 4324 W/m<sup>2</sup> in A&#287;r&#305;, 4181 W/m<sup>2</sup> in Ankara, 5152 W/m<sup>2</sup> in Bing&#246;l, 4671 W/m<sup>2</sup> in Erzincan, 4809 W/m<sup>2</sup> in K&#305;r&#305;kkale, 5115 W/m<sup>2</sup> in K&#305;r&#351;ehir, 5103 W/m<sup>2</sup> in Malatya, 4191 W/m<sup>2</sup> in Sivas and 4692 W/m<sup>2</sup> in Yozgat. According to this, Bing&#246;l, K&#305;r&#351;ehir and Malatya provinces are better than other provinces due to high solar energy values.</p>
