The presented text is a philosophical attempt to analyze the purpose of the existence of beauty from three different aspects: (i) Beauty as a tool for the best strategy of choosing genes for reproduction; (ii) Aesthetic experience as a possible treatment; and (iii) Beauty as awareness of one’s own being. For our purposes, I will defend the hypothesis that the most characteristic features and functions of beauty are to report an anticipation of a better and higher quality existence.
